Xiaomi’s Mi unveiled their new Xiaomi Mi Band 4 at an event in China. As the rumors suggested the new Mi band has a color AMOLED panel with a 2.5D curved glass protection. The Mi Band 4 features a six-axis accelerometer sensor that enables monitoring of physical activities while on-the-move. The band also has payment support which is backed by Alibaba’s Alipay.
The fourth generation of Mi Band is very much stylish and smarter than the previous smart band from Xiaomi. Despite the new cool features added, the new Mi Band is available at a very affordable price in China.
Mi Band 4 Specifications and Features:
Ahead of its launch, there were lots of rumors and leaks that revealed too much about the new Mi Band 4. As the rumors revealed, the outer look of the Mi Band 4 appears almost like the Mi Band 3. It has a rubber band like the Mi Band 3 but includes much bigger and also coloured OLED display. The new Xiaomi Mi Band 4 sports a 0.95-inch colour AMOLED display that has 120×240 pixels resolution and a 2.5D glass protection on top. There is a slight difference in design when compared to Mi Band 3. The new band has the charging pins sit on the bottom instead of on top like in Mi Band 3.
There is a six-axis accelerometer installed in the band. It useful in monitoring physical activities like cycling, exercise, running, swimming, and walking. The device is 5 ATM rated and is designed to identify various swimming strokes, namely freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly, and mixed-style. With the help of payment mode in the new Mi Band, users can make payments on the go. The user needs to swipe the screen to show the QR code for the screen to make payments.
The Mi Band 4 comes with AI voice assistant support of Xiaomi itself. This will allow users to control other Xiaomi smart devices including smartphones, air conditioner, Mi smart Led bulb, among other things. The users will also be able to control music playback of their smartphones.
Xiaomi has launched two versions of Mi Band 4. One is the NFC version while the other one is the non-NFC version of the new Mi Band. The NFC version allows the users to make payment with the help of the band. Apart from these two versions, Xiaomi has launched a special Avengers Edition Mi Band 4 that comes with an Avengers logo on it.
Pricing and Availability of Mi Band 4:
The pricing of the non-NFC Mi Band 4 has been priced at CNY 169 (approximately Rs. 1,700). The NFC version of the Mi Band has been priced at CNY 229 (approximately Rs. 2,300). The Avengers edition of Mi Band is priced at CNY 349 (approximately Rs. 3,500). The band will go on for sale for the first time on June 16 in China. Last year Mi Band 3 was launched in China in May at a price of CNY 169 which is also the starting price of the successor of it. The Mi Band 3 was available in India in September at a price of Rs. 1,999.
However, Xiaomi has not revealed the global pricing and availability of new Mi Band in India. It is expected that the company will soon come up with the official words on pricing and availability of Mi Band 4 in India.
