In an age where the cloud is as important as it is misunderstood by a large majority of the population, technology can be a bit scary. It dictates our lives and shapes humanity but is at the same time being regulated by a select few. Needless to say, for something so powerful, the internet and technology, in general, is still quite a mysterious force for many people.

That’s why we’re always doing the most we can to show you the best and brightest technology out there and explain why it’s worth your time. Because when it comes to the quickly growing world of technology and the endless digital ocean of apps especially, it never hurts to be pointed in the right direction or to know what to avoid. We’ll be the first to admit there’s an overwhelming assortment of content out there. After all, we’re the ones who are sorting through it all!

But when it comes to all things Bitcoin, our resources might be a tad limited. However, as the awareness of Bitcoin rises and interest in it begins to skyrocket, so too will the need for more coverage. So if you’ve grown tired of reading about tweets and what’s next for Pokemon Go, get comfortable and get ready to read about a few apps that signal a future for the cryptocurrency that’s got everybody confused and many, many people excited.

Crytocurrency

Blockfolio:

One aspect of cryptocurrency that people seem to be struggling with and arguably the most important part is its worth. While the market for this is quite volatile and people have been making all sorts of projections and predictions on how many real-world dollars this digital dollar translates into, consumers need to realize there is a whole market of cryptocurrency competitors. Translation: Bitcoin isn’t the only cryptocurrency out there. It’s just the most recognizable/successful one at the moment. And Blockfolio helps you keep track of each and every company and initiative that’s invested in being a cryptocurrency. This app has been downloaded over 1 million times already since its original release in 2017.

Blockfolio

People who are looking to take advantage of this new trend would be doing themselves a great disservice by not downloading this as it’s not only free but quite a sophisticated piece of software. Users can set certain thresholds for each company and a notification will pop up on your phone when that threshold is crossed. Considering that there are experts out there estimating a 500% increase in Bitcoin value, there’s no telling how other cryptocurrencies will appreciate or depreciate as time goes on. But what we can say is this is one of the smartest ways to keep up with those changes.

BitPay:

BitPay is a Bitcoin wallet app that allows you to, you guessed it, receive, store and pay in Bitcoin. The app’s version is currently 3.9.1, which goes to show that the developers have already have had time to fine-tune it and add features, as explained by its over 2,000 reviews on Google Play which have ranked it 4.5/5. If you’re still new to the whole Bitcoin craze, there are quite a few different businesses that allow you to pay with the cryptocurrency. Of the multitude of businesses currently accepting the currency. Some of the more notable names include Microsoft, Wikipedia, WordPress, Subway, Reddit, OkCupid and a series of online casinos. Even casino brands such as Betway discussed Bitcoin as the future of currency and even offer up plenty of reasons why it offers benefits rather than reasons to be skeptical, with instant transactions and lack of transaction fees as compared to other methods two very common ones.

That’s why there are apps out there gearing up to accept those new customers – because many of the bigger banking companies are late to the Bitcoin game, so they’re building a foundation of customers that will keep them when the big corporations have to adjust to accommodate the cryptocurrency. BitPay is one of those apps, so if you have any interest in the craze you should get it while it’s still free.

Gliph:

This goes hand in hand with BitPay and gives Bitcoin users a marketplace to buy and sell all of their goodies. Essentially, this is a Bitcoin Amazon or eBay. This app comes with a long list of functions and some people are even using it just as a messenger app as you’re able to find Facebook friends and it has been praised for its ease of access.

Gliph

However, when you are looking to use Gliph for its main purpose, it works very similarly to other marketplace apps in that you can post items for sale, watch other items, make offers, purchase a disposable email for safety purposes and get human product support when you need help. Really, this is just a solid app that allows you to purchase and send Bitcoin, so it’s a recommendation from us no matter what you’re using it for. And as it is with the rest of these apps, Gliph is a free download with mostly favorable reviews of 4.1 stars out of 5 on Google Play and tens of thousands installs.

Bitcoin Billionaire:

Lastly, we have an app that shouldn’t be taken seriously but is nonetheless a fun Bitcoin-themed title that’s worth checking out. The premise is simple: the faster you tap the screen, the more Bitcoins you’re able to “mine.” Sure, it’s not the most involved game out there, but it’s a light game that’s perfect when you have five minutes here or there to spare, following on the “idle/clicker game” trend. And it puts a satirical spin on the lack of knowledge surrounding Bitcoin – a welcome departure from the heavy subject that it’s recently transformed into. This game by Canada’s Noodlecake Studios has over 1,000,000 downloads and offers in-app purchases for those who want to speed things up.

With that being said, Bitcoin is a trend worth keeping your eye on. With more and more cryptocurrency throwing their hat into the ring, its price is over $17,000 as of December 20th and a growing number of companies supporting the currency, it’s looking more and more like another big change presented to society by the often misunderstood juggernaut that is technology.
