Ola company has launched a new lighter version of its ride-booking app called Ola Lite. The app is very lightweight which comes with a size of 1 MB. Ola Lite app can easily be used in low-end Android phones, as it doesn’t require too many resources to work properly. The app is more focusing on the companies like Tier II and Tier III cities market. Ola said it loads the result within 3 seconds without compromising on the booking experience,
Ola explained in a press release, “Lite is extremely quick and nimble in functioning with lightning-fast reflexes. Taking an obsessive approach to optimize every little element in the app, Lite makes the booking experience seamless by employing features such as mobile number based signup instead of email, the app brings all fares upfront allowing the user to choose what works best for them, a crisp and clear ride information screen, and offering navigation on demand to save on data loads.”
Features of Ola Lite app:
- It Consumes less than 1 MB of space on your Smartphone.
- Book your ride in an easy and fast way.
- While booking a cab, it uses less mobile data.
- It works even if the user has a 2G and 3G network.
- The app supports all the usual Ola booking feature which includes Cab, Auto, Ola Rentals and Ola Outstation.
As compared to an official version of Ola app, it doesn’t skip any feature from it. Also, Ola is targeting to small cities and towns with this new app. The company said at the launch of the app, “As the first in the industry to launch the Lite app, Ola fuels its focus on solving accessibility challenges in the emerging towns and cities of the country.”
Ola Lite app uses the recently-launched Progressive Web App (PWA) framework. It allows users to sign up easily by asking their contact number instead of email id. It will show clear ride information screen and also offers navigation on demand in order to save data. You can book different rides starting from shared autos and cabs to luxury cars. It supports payments from all the usual methods including Ola Money.
