Leaked AnTuTu results of the new flagship processor Snapdragon 875 shows an improvement in speed by over 25%. This may be significantly faster than expected! The Snapdragon 875 chipset has a codename and it is “Lahaina” which scored over 847,000 points on AnTuTu that has defeated 99% of the users.

This is a jump of 25% than its predecessor Snapdragon 865+ though, Qualcomm needs to confirm this result before they can celebrate this success.

If we are to compare, then iPhone 12 which comes with A14 Bionic Chip scored 660,000 on AnTuTu, while Kirin 9000 which you can find in Huawei Phone and Exynos 1080 which is a flagship of Samsung scored 696,000 and 693,000 respectively. This is enough to top the current Flagship of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 chipset but they have outdone everyone with 875 if alleged results are to be believed.

Snapdragon 875 Antutu Benchmark result

If these are the results of Snapdragon 875 then it would be an interesting event to watch when Qualcomm unveils this beast into the market showing off all the features and capability of this chipset. It is also reported that many other chips will be launched along with other processors.

It is also reported that Qualcomm is working on Snapdragon 870 which will be an exclusive chip for Oppo phones which will be a lite version of Snapdragon 875. A few days ago, a blogger also mentioned that Oppo is testing an overclocked version of 865. The prime core in 865+ is clocked at 3.09 GHz but the overclocked version that Oppo is testing will go till 3.2 GHz or so.

Should you try Overclocking the Processor?

You can definitely benefit if you overclock the processor speed which can give you a higher performance. A technical person has a knowledge of this phenomenon but if you are a regular user, we advice that you do not try to do this as there are side effects of doing overclocking the processor. There is a limit set by the processors which makes them run at an optimal speed with regular usage and for long term.
