HTC has launched HTC RE Camera with 16 mega pixel CMOS sensor on Friday, October 17, in Mumbai, India,at HTC Double exposure event along with HTC Desire Eye, HTC One M8 Eye, HTC Desire 516C and octa core HTC Desire 820 in the region. Also HTC RE and HTC Desire Eye, both the devices were globally launched last week at the company’s Double Exposure event in New York.
HTC RE action camera is introduced with the price of Rs. 9,990, and it will be exclusively available via e-commerce site Snapdeal.com in the first week of November. HTC RE applies HTC’s innovative touch and stunning design philosophy to break into a completely new product category and reinvent photography to suit current and future trends.
The device does not include a power button; instead there is a built-in grip sensor that switches-on the device upon grip detection. It has an LED indicator that flashes red when you take a picture, stays on while recording video, and flashes blue when slow motion video is activated.
HTC RE will soon offer real-time video steaming to Youtube, allowing you to live in the moment and share it live via you Youtube Channel. Open API / SDK will also enable HTC’s partners to bring innovative new experiences to the device and to social platforms like Instagram.
With the launch of the new RE action camera, the Taiwanese giant is taking a big leap forward and is now more than just a smartphone maker. Interestingly, the RE camera device will be compatible with both Android and iOS devices. A companion app for both Android and iOS will be available for download soon, according to HTC. HTC RE Specifications:
The HTC RE device is the 16-megapixel sensor that can click or record with a 146-degree ultra-wide angle lens (f/2.8). The camera can record 1080p video at 30fps. Notably, HTC says the new RE device is a waterproof device with IPX7 certification, while the listing also claims that the waterproof cap enhances the RE’s rating to IPX8. To power the device, there is an 820mAh battery claimed to be enough for clicking 1200 photos or 1 hour 40 minutes continuous full-HD video recording. The RE camera action camera comes with 32MB ROM and 256MB of DDR RAM with microSD card support up to 128 GB.
For connectivity, there are Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, and Micro-USB options. HTC has also announced several accessories for the RE camera, such as an adjustable clamp, charging stand, universal mounting stand, universal wall plug (charger), portable battery, and dual-port adopter.
