At Google I/O 2018 Developer Conference, Google announced new Smart Compose feature for Gmail. This feature will actually help you to write your emails using the new machine learning technology.
The new Smart Compose feature will show auto-complete suggestion within the body of an email as you start writing. This feature actually suggests what you might want to write next in your email. If you wish to add that auto-complete suggestion to your email, just hit the tab button and it will add the text for you.
Gmail’s Smart Compose feature will not only save your time but also reduce the chance of sending something which has grammar or spelling mistakes. Moreover, these feature work exactly similar to Google autocomplete which also show suggestion while writing. In addition, Google I/O has also announced six new voices for Google Assistant.
Greg Bullock, Software Engineer, Gmail, said in the blog, “The Smart Compose feature has been designed to help save time by cutting back on repetitive writing while reducing the chance of spelling and grammatical errors. It can even suggest relevant contextual phrases. For example, if it’s Friday it may suggest “Have a great weekend!” as a closing phrase.”
Also, it will work all the way from the opening greeting to the closing statement. Google says that this feature will work in the background and will suggest relevant contextual phrases. Meanwhile, you can see what’s new in Android P beta. Also, you can check the list of devices which is compatible with Android P beta.
However, the Gmail’s Smart Compose feature will start rolling for users in next couple of weeks. Also, G Suite users can get this feature in next few months. For using this feature, a user needs to enable the new Gmail option. So just visit the setting of your Gmail and select “Try the new Gmail”, then move towards general tab in your settings and enable the Experimental access. Do try this Smart Compose feature and let us know your feedback in our comment section below.
