After Samsung and Microsoft and few other companies, HTC has now introduced its amazing selfie-focused smartphone named as HTC Desire Eye, the new smartphone is claimed to include one of the best front-facing cameras and it is water proof too. The HTC Desire Eye selfie-focused smartphone boasts of a front-facing camera with the same treatment as the rear camera. Both feature 13-megapixel sensors, and are both accompanied by dual-LED flash.
HTC Desire Eye also features an IPX7 rating, designed to resist immersion in water up to 1 metre for 30 minutes. Both the front-facing and rear cameras can shoot 1080p@30fps videos. The Desire Eye carries much better specs than most of the Desire family. It’s powered by a Snapdragon 801 chipset with 2GB RAM and runs Android 4.4 with the latest Sense software and two camera-centric apps – Eye Experience and the new Zoe.
Its new Split Capture function combines simultaneous photos and videos taken on the front and back cameras into one split-screen image or video, creating a new selfie experience. Crop-Me-In places you at the heart of the action by cropping you from the image or video taken with the front-facing camera and positioning it within the scene captured by the main camera.
Voice Selfie makes it easier for you to take selfies. Simply “say cheese” as soon as you’ve struck the perfect pose or trigger the video recording with “action” or “rolling” commands.
The HTC Desire Eye boasts of a 5.2-inch full-HD LCD display; Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor; 2GB of RAM; 16GB of inbuilt storage expandable via microSD card (upto 128GB), and a 2400mAh Li-Po battery. Front-facing stereo speakers powered by HTC Boomsound technology are also onboard the handset. It measures in at 151.7×73.8×8.5mm.
Apart from being an AT&T-exclusive at launch, no pricing and availability details have yet been mentioned.
