WhatsApp is now rolling its Picture-in-Picture mode to desktops through a new update to the WhatsApp Web. A month ago, this feature of WhatsApp is added to mobile devices. The new update is also reported to add the option of Reply privately mode which allows users to privately reply to a message they received in a group. Earlier this month, WhatsApp added a new Restricted Group setting which helps administrator to restrict a group member from sending text messages, photographs, video, GIFs, documents, or voice messages.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp team has submitted he version 0.2.7315 of its Web client which includes the two new features. The first feature is a Picture-in-Picture mode which allows users to watch videos in a separate pop-up screen. The screen includes controls such as play/ pause button, volume controller, and timeline slider.

This new video-centric feature works similarly as Picture-in-Picture mode available on the mobile versions of WhatsApp. WhatsApp Picture-in-Picture mode was released in September for a beta user.

Coming to the second feature, the WhatsApp Web update includes Reply privately option which allows you to communicate with one of your group members privately. As per WABetaInfo report, the screenshot shows that WhatsApp includes a new option that will be available alongside the existing ‘Reply’ and ‘Forward message’ options and will quote the group message alongside your private message. In addition to WhatsApp Web, the new feature to privately send messages to group members would be expected to roll out on the Android and iOS versions of WhatsApp in comings months.
