ICICI Bank launches a mobile application Eazypay which enable merchants, retailers and professionals to accept instant cashless payments on their mobile phone from a customer. Eazypay offers your customers to pay immediately using their phone by convenient payment mode. The ICICI Bank said that they can pay through Unified Payment Interface (UPI), any credit/debit card and internet banking.
The bank’s MD and CEO Chanda Kochhar said through video-conferencing, “At ICICI Bank, we have proactively undertaken various measures to accelerate the shift to a digital economy. ‘Eazypay’ is yet another initiative to fulfill the vision of Digital India.”
Any current account holder of ICICI Bank can download Eazypay app and start using it. A non-user of ICICI Bank can also use the app after opening a current account with the bank. The app is available for both Android as well as for iOS smartphone.
This app can be used by 30 employees of a merchant simultaneously to collect payment on their mobile phones at multiple counters ‘in-the-store’ as well as ‘on-the-go’ like home deliveries. The money collected through this app is directly going to the current bank account of the merchants. Kochhar said, their existing customers don’t need to visit a branch or submit any documents for using this app.
ICICI Bank said that it is possible to collect money in situations like home delivery of goods/services, telesales and payment-on-delivery options by e-commerce companies where the buyer and the seller are not physically present in the same location.
In ICICI Eazypay app, the payment can be done using Aadhaar Pay, Bharat QR code and by Pockets which is the digital wallet of ICICI Bank. It is country’s largest private sector bank by consolidated assets. Around 9,000 merchants are currently registered with ‘Eazypay’ across Uttar Pradesh. You can download this app from Google Play Store. Do try this app and let us know about your feedback in our comment section below.
