I never thought I’d be writing about a mosquito repellent device, but here I am. Reportedly, LG’s new budget-oriented device will repel mosquitoes by using ultrasonic waves.
The LG K7i was launched recently at the India Mobile Congress this week, it is embedded with technology that claims to keep away mosquitoes. The device releases ultrasonic waves from a grid in the back of the device. The waves should repel pests and is safe for humans.
It’s not the first time LG has introduced a mosquito repellent device in their products, we have seen them in their Air Conditioners, TV’s and etc.
The company seems to market this first in India as we all know India has struggled with diseases like Malaria and dengue which obviously spread through mosquitoes. The K7i ultrasonic emits frequencies of 30kHz.
The device will come with a compact 5inch display which will be lighter than you expect. The device is 8.1mm thick and weighs 138 grams.
The K7i comes with an 8MP camera at the back and a 5MP front camera for selfies. Also, there are some gestures inbuilt for instant selfies.
The smartphone will have a quad-core processor which is clocked at 1.1Ghz with 2GB Ram. It also comes with 16GB storage with 2500mAh battery.
The device runs Android Marshmallow 6.0 out of the box, with connectivity options such as WiFi, Bluetooth, FM radio, Microsoft, Dual sim and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The device comes in a brown variant.
LG K7i is reportedly being sold for around Rs.7,990 and will be on sale very soon.
