Recently, OnePlus rolled out its OTA (Over The Air) updates to the OnePlus 5 in its OxygenOS 4.5.7 update. This update adds 4K Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) to the phone and the all new OnePlus Slate font. Here is a look at all the changes that the company has made to their phone.

4K EIS

The OnePlus 5’s most marketed feature was its camera and the lack of any type of stabilization seemed to disappoint its customers. So OnePlus finally rolled out 4K Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) to its users. While it may not be as good as Optical Image Stabilization seen on phones such as the iPhone 7 and many others, it is still better than having no stabilization at all. According to real life tests, the stabilization has really improved. Here is a video so you can get an idea

A New Font!

While Roboto seems like a perfectly fine font, OnePlus went ahead and introduced its own font into the phone. It’s known as Slate. According to many type designers, the font is quite similar to Roboto itself so it doesn’t completely change the look of the phone. It is rather noticeable to most of the users. Still, quite an exclusive touch there, OnePlus!

Other Changes and New Features

Other than the fonts, the company has also added minor bug fixes to the phone, all of them being sound related. These include: Fixing the audio leak from speakers while using the headphones, a fix for missing audio channels while video recording, and fixing the camera shutter sound bug experienced in India and nearby regions.

The phone has added enhancements to improve the Wi-Fi connectivity on the phone and some software optimizations to increase the phone standby time.

The update also updates the phone with the July 2017 security patch and the latest GMS package.
