OnePlus launched Series 9 on 23 March 2021 in an event online through its website and social media where the company has also launched OnePlus Smartwatch for which the community have been waiting for a long time. The event launched the following smartphones OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro, and OnePlus 9R alongside the OnePlus smartwatch.
OnePlus has tied up with the camera company Hasselblad for the camera which is the company that has also worked with NASA in the early years. OnePlus has delivered their true flagship with OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro which is powered with Snapdragon 888, unlike OnePlus 9R which is powered with Snapdragon 870 chipset. Also looking at the price point, the OnePlus 9R is quite lower than the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro.
All three phones come in two storage variants of 8 GB RAM and 128 GB Storage and 12 GB RAM and 256 GB Storage. However, we get to see different colour variations in all the phones but the models do like the kind of familiar with each other. The main difference that we can look for in a design is on the back where you can find that the OnePlus 9 Pro comes with a quad-camera layout whereas the OnePlus 9R and the OnePlus 9 comes with a triple rear camera layout.
OnePlus 9 Pro comes in three colour variations Morning Mist, Pine Green, and Stellar Black, also OnePlus 9 comes in three variations Astral Black, Arctic Sky, and Winter Mist. The OnePlus 9R comes in two colour variations Carbon Black and Lake Blue.
